We are preparing for our Religious Education programs to begin at our three locations in the Fall 2023.  In order to properly plan, we need to receive registration information as soon as possible.  Please complete, scan, and email registration to releducate.mbourgeoys@gmail.com.  Fees are not due until program begins.

St. Marguerite Bourgeoys – Tantallon

• Elementary Program | Years 1 – 6
  • Classes take place Tuesday evenings at Sir John A MacDonald High School
  • The Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion take place in Year 2 (Year 1 is a prerequisite for Year 2)
  • We follow the Archdiocese sanctioned program, “Be My Disciples”

• Junior High | Years 7 – 9
  • Classes take place alternating Sunday evenings at the church.
  • The Sacrament of Confirmation is the focus of this program. Confirmation 1 (Year 8) is a prerequisite for Confirmation 2 (Year 9)
  • The program consists of a variety of activities including:
    • Prayer
    • Group discussion and projects surrounding social justice issues
    • Discovering God’s given talents through Strength Finders
    • This program is run by volunteers.

Youth are a joyous presence in our faith communities and part of our role as Stewards, is to welcome, engage and provide opportunity to give back. There are a number of ways for youth to engage and serve in our churches.

St. Marguerite Bourgeoys:

• Liturgical: Altar servers, choir members, readers
• Social Justice: Pocket change for Change, SSVP food bank, Christmas gifts for Marguerite Center and Hope Cottage
• Hunger Banquets and Thinkfast events to learn about social issues throughout the world and our local community

St. Joseph:

• Liturgical: altar servers, hospitality, music
• Various projects to learn and know about community projects to benefit those in need.

St. Augustine and Missions:

• Liturgical: Altar Servers
